The staff are as follows:

• Mrs Sarah Houghton, the Supervisor. Sarah joined Barby Pre-School in September 2011. Previously Sarah was Deputy Manager at a local nursery. She is qualified to Level 4 and is working towards Level 5, and she has extensive experience in childcare and early years education.

• Mrs Nicola Appleyard, the Deputy Supervisor. Nicola has been at Barby Pre-School for 3 years, she is qualified to NVQ level 3 and is our Health and Safety Officer.

• Mrs Karina Smith has been at Barby Pre-School for 3 years and is qualified to NVQ level 3. Karina has many childcare skillls and has also been a professional dance teacher for many years.
  
  
• Miss Abbie French is qualified to NVQ level 3. She has several years experience in childcare and joined our staff team in September 2011.

All members of staff regularly update their experiences and qualifications by attending courses and staff meetings.  For more information about the training and qualifications of our staff please see the skills matrix and training plan available in the setting.

The Management of Barby Pre-School:
A parent Committee manages the Setting, with members who are elected from the parents of the children attending the Pre-School.  Elections take place at the Annual General Meeting in May. The Committee is responsible for:

• Managing the Setting finances;
• Employing and managing the staff;
• Ensuring the Setting adheres to the policies that ensures a high quality service;
• Ensuring the Setting works in partnership with the children’s parents/carers.
