Learning Through Play:
Play helps young children to learn and develop through doing and talking, which research has shown to be the means by which young children think.

Our Setting uses the new Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum guidance to plan and provide a range of play activities which help children to make progress in each of the areas of learning and development.  In some of these activities children decide how they will use the activity, whilst, in others an adult takes part in the activity.

In all activities, information from the curriculum guidance has been used to decide what equipment to provide and how to provide it.

Ofsted
Ofsted is appointed by the Government and is responsible for the regular inspection of schools, nurseries and interviewing staff.

Children’s Development and Learning:
The provision for children’s learning and development is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage as issued by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

The framework informs practice in Settings across the age range from birth to five years.

Children start to learn about the world around them from the moment they are born.  The care and education offered by our Setting helps children to continue to do this by providing all of the children with interesting activities that are appropriate for their age and stage of development.

For children between the ages of two and a half and five years, the Setting provides a curriculum for the early years foundation stage of education.  This curriculum is set out in documentation published by the Department for Children, Schools and Families.

There is much more information available about the way that the children learn in the setting – please just ask a member of staff.  At the setting we make information available to parents on various aspects of childcare and the curriculum.
